The Water Security Agency engaged Associated Engineering to prepare a design and tender package for the required upgrades to the first 3.2 kilometres of canal in the Saskatoon South East Water Supply System, immediately east of the Broderick Reservoir.
The rehabilitation design of the canal was completed using a fast-tracked, modified progressive delivery approach, in collaboration with Agenct representatives, to meet the extremely short timeline from design initiation to tender ready. The design includes a capacity upgrade of approximately 30% to 8.2 cubic metres per second, incorporation of a geotextile liner and rock armour, turn-out, cross drain, and drain inlet replacements, and modifications to check structures.
