The City of Regina identified the need for a modern hauled waste receiving station after years of receiving septage at a wastewater pump station and lagoon.
The City envisioned a hauler-operated facility with automated site entry and which would include separation of solids, flow equalization to protect downstream treatment processes from toxic loads, and collection of load characteristics suitable for billing purposes. Previous septage receiving sites had solids accumulation issues and lacked reliable tracking of quantity and quality of dumped material. The City commissioned Associated Engineering to complete preliminary design, detailed design and provide construction services for the new station.
In 2019, this project was recognized by the Association of Consulting Engineers – Saskatchewan with an Award of Excellence.
