Associated Environmental conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of a property in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
There was one building on site that housed a restaurant and a retail store. Both businesses were operational during the investigation, and care was taken to minimize disruption to customers.
The objective of the investigation was to identify potential soil or groundwater contamination at levels that exceeded the applicable standards relative to current and proposed zoning and land use. The methods used to evaluate the level of environmental risk at the subject site included the following:
- Review of historical documents
- Examination of aerial photographs of the site and surrounding areas
- Interviews to determine current and past uses of the site
- Searches of relevant databases, including the Environmental Spill and Contaminated Sites Reports database
The assessment was completed for environmental due diligence and financial purposes
