The Region of Niagara’s Pelham Patrol Yard provides fueling for their fleet of winter road maintenance vehicles.
With an aging fueling facility and leaks identified in similar installations the Region of Niagara retained Associated Engineering to provide, Detailed Design, Contract Administration and Construction Supervision services for the removal and replacement of the existing fueling facility that included two underground fuel storage tanks, pumps and associated piping and electrical.

Project Highlights
The replacement facility design included two above ground fuel tanks, one diesel and one unleaded gasoline, fuel pumps, area lighting, operator kiosk and all associated underground piping and wiring including connections for backup generator power supply and provisions for future fuel management system (card reader/keypad).
Given the close proximity of the facility to a natural drainage course, we also liaised with the Ministry of Natural Resources to ensure the design, remediation and construction were completed in accordance with all applicable provincial and federal regulations including Environmental Management Protocols issued by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority and Ontario Regulation 153/04.
