Deltaport Container Terminal Pod 4

The $50 million, 40 hectare container terminal comprises two berths, gantry cranes, rubber tire gantries, container yard, intermodal yard, gate area, access causeway, internal roads, parking areas, and ancillary buildings.

Associated Engineering provided civil engineering design services for this project.  Our responsibilities included preliminary design, detailed design and construction inspection of grading, paving and surface drainage for the entire site including the container yard, intermodal yard, gate area, access causeway, internal roads and parking areas. Special surfacing design features for this facility include a uni-directional grading scheme with slot drains tailored to rubber tired gantry and top pick operations, reinforced concrete runways for rubber tired gantry operations integrated with slot drain crossings, and areas of roller compacted concrete pavement, as well as asphalt on granular pavement.
