Civil Engineer-in-Training
As Civil Engineer-in-Training in the Indigenous Infrastructure group, Tyra assists in a variety of infrastructure projects for Indigenous communities including water, wastewater, community buildings and planning. She participates in all stages of the project from writing proposals and funding submissions to completion reports.
ON INDIGENOUS ENGAGEMENT
A big part of working in Indigenous infrastructure is engaging with Indigenous communities. Engagement is unique for every community and we aim to establish relationships and trust early on our projects. In my experience, Associated doesn’t treat Indigenous Engagement as a check-box to complete. Each project team member listens and learns from the communities we serve.
ON CAREER GROWTH
I am early in my career, but already the dedication Associated has to getting young professionals the experience they need to progress into professionals is clear. Whether it is site inspection work, contract administration, multi-discipline projects, or supporting project management tasks, there are always opportunites to take on challenging tasks and gain new skills. I am looking forward to continuing to grow my career at Associated!
