Our COVID-19 Response - April 16 Update

Martin Jobke

The last four weeks of this global pandemic have been challenging, but they have also shown us what we can accomplish if we work together. By physical distancing and working from home, collectively we are flattening the curve.

Many provinces and municipalities have confirmed that engineering is an essential service. We are proud of our role in assisting to maintain these essential programs and services, and are committed to providing the required support to our clients. Thank you for your trust in us as your consultant.

Most of our staff are now working from home and, although building management in some of our locations are now restricting building access, all our offices remain in operation, and some staff are undertaking key functions from our offices.

While we may be working remotely, our commitment to collaboration, service, and project delivery remains the same. Our staff are readily available by telephone, email, tele-conference or video-conference. Our project managers will continue to reach out to clients with regular project updates and reviews, and our project teams are always available to answer your questions. In addition, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Our staff are continuing project site visits and construction inspections for those sites that remain active. From time-to-time, more than one staff member may be required to visit a project or construction site at the same time. To keep physical distance, we now require staff to travel to site in separate vehicles and maintain appropriate separation while at site, as well as wear necessary personal protective equipment and employ applicable best practices.

The COVID-19 crisis has resulted in the temporary suspension of some design and construction projects. We understand the difficult decisions that you must make at this time to protect the health and safety of employees and the community. Should you be required to put your projects on hold, our project managers can work with you to develop a plan to safely and effectively pause the project, as well as a strategy for efficiently restarting the project.

While the COVID-19 outbreak has forced us to physically separate, I believe that this crisis has brought us closer as a society. We know that what we’re doing now matters and is making a difference to save lives. United, we will beat this pandemic and we will come through it together.

Best Regards,

Martin Jobke, P.Eng.
