Melanie has worked throughout Western Canada as a terrestrial ecologist for the past 25 years. Her experience includes project management, vegetation and wildlife inventories, ecological land classification, rangeland management, sustainable agriculture, environmental impact assessments, reclamation planning and monitoring, and waste management.

ON THE ENVIRONMENT
We live in a finite world. The challenge is to have an ecologically functioning world – with us in it. To find a balance between development and nature, expertise in planning before and reclaiming after development are essential.
ON CAREER GROWTH
My work is my passions made visible, and these passions are supported, inspired, and focused at Associated. Over the past 20-some years, I have been given the opportunity to flourish in ways that suit my skills and I am proud of where my career has taken me. Our structure allows for all staff to demonstrate leadership, step into new roles, and be relied upon by senior staff for input.

Great technical solutions are possible with the support I receive for technical development. My technical growth is further inspired by working with other knowledgeable and passionate people, both within and out of Associated.
